Southern Proper in "The Preppy Journal"

From "The Preppy Journal":
February 7th, 2009
I love Southern Proper. The brand is a tribute to the romance of the southern preppy lifestyle. Besides their products, a visit to their website introduces you to a world where gentlemen lounge in bow ties and sockless loafers and attending horse races among other things, is considered a way of life. Everything about them is as they say "proper" and of course, preppy.
As some of you know they are known for their very preppy bows and neckties. Their latest spring collection has a nautical theme to it complete with starfish and sea shell prints. It's the perfect accessory to wear for your preppy beach side wedding or party. Southern Proper also offers other accessories including polos and frat hats which is described as the "perfect preppy weekend wear". About a year ago they also launched a head band product for women. I am hoping they will continue to expand their offerings to include items like khaki pants and/or oxford shirts. Maybe even a navy blazer for a complete outfit to match their bows and neckties. Gentlemen don't you agree? (read more)

Lucky for you, we've done your work for you this year. You'll find our admittedly stereotypical -- but still very helpful -- Queen City personalities paired with their top gift choices. And who knows? Maybe you'll even find a little something to add to your own wish list.

Southern Proper in NC Boating Lifestyle - Sept 08

From NC Boating Lifestyle
Sept 2008
Water Wear
A Bald Head boater contacted us after finding a fabulous tie from an Atlanta-based company called Southern Proper. As most waterlovers know, the world of boating is a small one. So when Reagan Hardy, one of the founders and owners of Southern Proper, heard we were calling from NCboatinglifestyle, she said, “I love that magazine! I read it at my parents’ house when I go see them!” It turns out that Reagan grew up in Kinston, and her parents boat in the Morehead City-Beaufort area. In fact, much of Southern Proper’s designs have a North Carolina influence and are carried by specialty stores across the country. Kudos to a North Carolina coastal girl who has found proper success. Her parents have even named their boat Southern Proper!
